Using Attorneys and Other Professionals

What about our own attorneys?

I am an attorney but I am acting as your mediator.  Any mediated agreement should be reviewed by your own independent attorney,  and I advise parties to do so before they sign the mediated settlement agreement. 

What about utilizing other professional services?

This is on a case by case basis.  It sometimes makes sense to use outside professionals to value property, value businesses, or therapists to help the parties deal with the emotional toll that divorce takes on your life.  Parties can find these professionals on their own, or they can work with their mediator to locate these professionals.
